Have a reliable way to accept payments when your main EFTPOS device is in use or not available, or if simply, taking payments via the Tyro Portal is the easier thing to do for both you and your customer. Payment Links is a convenient and simple way to take payments 24/7 without any device costs.

Login to your Portal

It’s easy and simple

Once enabled with Payment Link, simply follow the below steps.

Step 1

Initiate payment link

Under the “Collect Payment” tab, select Payment Links and click “Create payment link”.

Step 2

Input transaction details

Enter payment details such as the Charge amount, the Payment link expiry date and Link description (optional). Click ‘Create link’ to proceed.

Step 3

Share link

Copy the payment link that you just created and send it to your customer via email or any preferred method.

Step 4

Customer payment

The customer clicks on the link, enters their card details and clicks Submit Payment.

Step 5

Digital receipt

Upon completion, customers can opt to receive a digital receipt via email for their records.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I take payments on my phone?

    To use your phone or a mobile device, simply login to the Tyro Portal via a web browser. From here, just follow steps 1 – 5 above to take payments online.

  • How much will it cost?

    There is no additional cost to enable Payment Links available on your Account. You will only pay for the transactions that you put through. For every transaction you make, we’ll charge 1.4% (incl. GST) of the transaction value plus $0.25c (incl. GST) per transaction for Visa and Mastercard domestic and international card payments. That means on a $100 transaction for a Visa or Mastercard (domestic or international) card payment you would pay $1.40 plus 25c for the transaction.

  • Can I add a surcharge when processing a payment?

    Surcharging is not currently available via Payment Links or via the Tyro Portal. If you were wanting to add an additional fee on top of the purchase amount, you will need to manually calculate the total transaction amount to incorporate your ‘fee’.

  • Will I receive my funds at the same time as the payments I made on my EFTPOS machine?

    Yes! You will access your funds at the same settlement time as the rest of your payments.
