Tyro Go: Hardware Policy and Limited Warranty

This Hardware Policy and Limited Warranty applies to your purchase of a Tyro Go EFTPOS Reader (Tyro Go) and any accompanying accessories, cords, cables and parts from Tyro Payments Limited (ABN 49 103 575 042) (“we”, “us”, “our” or “Tyro”).  The Limited Warranty also applies to your purchase of those products from Tyro’s authorised retail partners.

Your use of the Tyro Go is governed by our General Terms and Conditions and our EFTPOS and eCommerce Terms and Conditions.

Your order

We make the Tyro Go available to customers located in Australia for their own use. You may not purchase the Tyro Go for resale. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order if we reasonably believe that you are purchasing the Tyro Go for resale.

We endeavour to maintain sufficient stock of the Tyro Go to meet demand. However, there may be occasions where our stock is insufficient to meet your order or we are otherwise unable to fulfil your order. We reserve the right to limit or change the quantity of Tyro Go available for purchase or to cancel an order placed by you if we are unable to fulfil your order. If we cancel your order, we will refund the purchase price paid in full.

Postage and shipping

We will ship the Tyro Go to you using a carrier of our choice. Where we provide you with an estimated delivery time or date, we do not guarantee that the Tyro Go will be delivered by that time or date. We are not liable for any loss or damage you suffer due to late shipment or delivery or any delays in shipment or delivery.

Limited Warranty

We warrant your Tyro Go against errors, faults or defects in the hardware under normal use conditions for a period of one (1) year from the date you purchased it (Warranty Period). If such an error, fault, or defect appears in your Tyro Go during the Warranty Period (Used Hardware), we will replace the Used Hardware with a new or refurbished Tyro Go. We will also either arrange for the Used Hardware to be returned to us at our cost or reimburse your reasonable costs of posting or shipping the Used Hardware to us.

This warranty is only available to the original purchaser of a Tyro Go. The benefits of the warranty cannot be transferred to another person and the warranty ends if the original purchaser sells or transfers the Tyro Go to another person.

This warranty does not apply if your Tyro Go:

  • has suffered an error, fault or defect outside of normal and proper use, including if it has been used in a manner that is inconsistent with any set-up and use instructions provided; or
  • has been subject to alteration, tampering, repair by a person other than Tyro, accident, abuse, intentional or accidental misuse, fire, fluid ingress of any kind, external electrical faults, acts of god (including, without limitation, earthquake, flood, hurricane, lightning or tornado) or other external causes of an error, fault or defect.

If you want to claim under this warranty, contact Tyro Customer Support at 1300 00 TYRO (8976) or cs@tyro.com. The Tyro Customer Support team will provide you with detailed instructions to return your Used Hardware to us in its original packaging within 30 days, together with:

  • all accessories, cords, cables, parts and documentation;
  • a copy of your proof of purchase for the Used Hardware; and
  • evidence of your reasonable postage or shipping costs (where you are seeking reimbursement of those costs)

Our address for warranty claims is:

Tyro Payments Limited

Once you submit your claim, if you have requested it, we will ship you a new or refurbished Tyro Go so that you can get back to business as quickly as possible. If you do not return your Used Hardware to us within 30 days after you submit your claim, we will assume that you want to keep both the Used Hardware and the replacement hardware and may charge the cost of the replacement hardware to your account with Tyro.

Your rights under this warranty are in addition to other consumer rights and remedies that you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
